Dear Ahman Green,
It’s no secret that you’re regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever worn a Green Bay Jersey. You’re the all-time franchise rushing leader and truly a gifted player.
Your days in Lambeau Field have been greatly missed. Seeing you play last year was a privilege, even if some didn’t think you were contributing. I, for one, believe that you still have what it takes for at least the second string.
We are asking you now to give the Packers one more shot.
We know that you have been trying to move on in life, and we can’t stop you from doing that. It’s your absolute right to do with your life as you please.
That’s why I’m not begging you, but simply asking.
The Packers are in need of help. We are facing a formidable foe that is determined to prove they are champions over us. We simply cannot let that happen.
But next season shows that the Packers have a shot at the Super Bowl.
You can provide us with not only the depth we crave at running back, but more importantly, the kind of leadership and experience you bring to the team as well.
I’m not saying that you joining the team will guarantee our entrance into the Super Bowl. I am merely saying that if the Packers do make it, it simply won’t be the same without legendary No. 30 on the field.
You have already secured your place in the Packers Hall of Fame. Now, it is time for your ring.
